As Vancouverites, we are all holding onto the last of those warm, sunny September days. Looking for some fun, local events happening around the city? Rest easy! We have a list of some exciting events happening you don’t want to miss out on.
Vancouver Canadians Baseball- 4601 Ontario Street, Vancouver
Here is your last chance to attend a baseball game at the Nat Bailey Stadium before the season is over! Enjoy the game with a cold beverage, hotdogs, and popcorn.
When: Series starting September 6th-11th
Light Up Chinatown- Columbus Street, Vancouver
Chinatown will be spruced up with colourful light decorations in a two-day community wide celebration. Enjoy the local food and drink scene over the course of the weekend!
When: September 10th & 11th
Car Free Day Vancouver- (Various locations)
Enjoy live entertainment, local vendors, community booths, kid’s activities and much more coming to Vancouver over series of weekends this September. This popular event gives people the chance to experience what their community looks like having more space for pedestrians, car-free. There are three festivals taking place throughout the city, all starting from noon-7pm.
When: Commercial Drive- September 10th, Main Street- September 18th, West End September 25th.
Science World After Dark- 1455 Quebec St, Vancouver
The popular event is a great opportunity to discover everything under the dome, with a drink in hand! Other Science World favourites and galleries will be open, with many more activities to check out.
When: September 15th
Drive-In Movie Nights at Oakridge– 949 West 41st Ave, Vancouver
The outdoor film screening, presented my Grosvenor and Fresh Air Cinema will take place at the Oakridge Transit Centre development site. There will be space for 200 cars, which will be first-come, first-serve! Entry opens at 5:30pm and film screenings begin at dusk.
When: Every Thursday from September 15th-29th
Cheer on the Canucks @ Rogers Arena- 800 Griffiths Way
Canucks are getting ready to kick off their NHL pre-season at Rogers arena!
When: September 15th and 29th
Canine Library @ John Hendry Park- 3300 Victoria Dr, Vancouver
This special event invites participants to meet a new furry friend and read some poetry in the park. All ages are welcome to sign up, though children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
When: September 17th from 1-3pm
